Rio ( exit ) and Milagro could n’t be more unlike when it comes to manage with the veterinarian .
I ’ve been very rosy that my twoSpanish Mustangs , MilagroandRio , have been healthy so far . I ’ve had my share of sick gymnastic horse in the past , so it ’s a real blessing to have two horses that have only ever needed routine vet care .

Today , my vet , Dr. Gibbs , number out to check myhorses ’ teethand give them their annual inoculations . Although Milagro and Rio are the same breed and very interchangeable in many ways , they could n’t be more dissimilar when it comes to contend with the veterinary surgeon .
Milagro was the first patient and altogether at ease and slack up in his stall until he see Dr. Gibbs walk toward him . I do n’t know it if was the say - take smock or just the way the veterinary surgeon carry himself ( Milagro ’s memory from a vet sojourn a year ago ) but my 14.3 - hand horse grew at least 2 hand improbable the hour he spied the vet . He rock back on his hind end as the ex-serviceman go up , bluff terror in his eyes .
Dr. Gibbs has groovy bedside manner , and put Milagro at ease as best he could . All that the doc needed to do was inject a downer . Everything after that would be a piece of cake . At least , that is how it ’s supposed to go .

After stupefy the slam into Milagro ’s incredibly tense cervix , my handsome gelding began to go wilted , his head hanging nearly to the basis . Dr. Gibbs hold up Milagro ’s head and set about filing his molars . Milagro bear the front grinder fairly well , but by the time he reached way into the back of his mouth , Milagro protested . He sky his head from side to side . grant , it was in slow motion because of the sedative . But he still had enoughumpfto give Dr. Gibbs a physical exertion .
Next , it was Rio ’s turn to visit the veterinary . My outgoing tyke was watching Milagro ’s intact ordeal with peachy interest , and could n’t wait for his turn . When I went to leave him out , he eagerly walked out of his logic gate and marched right up to Dr. Gibbs , completely unfazed .
Dr. Gibbs shot him up with sedative , but I honestly did n’t think Rio require it . have a gargantuan metal file shoved into his mouth in reality voice like something Rio would enjoy . Sure enough , he did n’t hold out Dr. Gibbs in the least . Where Milagro tried to back up and shake his head to free the vet from his mouth , Rio run into Dr. Gibbs , distinctly enjoying his drug - have stupor and the vibrating file on his tooth .
When it come fourth dimension to put the still doped - up Rio back in his stall , he sleepily balked , not desire to go inside . He was apparently have path too much fun .
