A photograph from a family wedding from last class – bear witness just some of the next node 🙂

hand down – Thanksgiving will always be one of our favourite holiday of the class .   Mary put it best when she described it a few weeks back in one of her recipe posts . She wrote that Thanksgiving is the   chance to have family line and supporter seated together , enjoying each other ’s company , arrest up and telling write up while sharing a wonderful meal together – with the only gifts require being 1 of companionship and lovemaking .   Truly what it should all be about !

We will have to work up a few more barn tables to seat everyone !

So as we figured our docket of when we go where for kin gathering this come Thanksgiving hebdomad   – we permit ourselves to dream a small into the futurity   – and cogitate about host one big gathering of family for a future Thanksgiving Dinner At The Farm .

Although we grow quite a fleck of our own food at the farm – it will still be a few age before some of the farsighted - terminus plantings like the apple and cherry trees , or the wine-colored and jelly grape vine begin support sizable proceeds .   So with that in idea – we picked 2020 as the dream year .

And hopefully that ambition can become a reality .   After all – it was n’t that long , in fact just 3 forgetful years ago   – that Mary and I endure at the top of an overgrown hill and dream about the volaille , barn and garden .. and with a trivial work ( and sore muscleman and loss of blood now and then ) – that pipe dream came true – so why not dream a picayune more !

We will have to build a few more barn tables to seat everyone!

The b that started the dream will host the dream dinner

It truly is a altogether different feeling to sit down to a meal that comes from what you have grown or raised . Everything taste fresh , more virgin , and of course , we have the satisfaction of knowing exactly where our food came from and also the work that went into develop it . From the early spring days when we first planted it , to nurturing it throughout the summer calendar month , and then to the proud moment of harvesting , it all comes down to a chance to partake them with family unit and friend . And after all – is n’t that where those very first tradition of Thanksgiving from the Pilgrim ’s came from ?

Much of the garden harvest , like these green beans , will hopefully make it to the tabular array

So by that future 2020 particular date , with a minuscule luck and adept luck , we will be capable to answer the first vintages of our home - made wine – made from the Marquette grape vines .   And the apple and cherry Tree , along with the pumpkins from that years garden will create the   Proto-Indo European for dessert .   That of track will go along with the meal prepared   with a bounty from the garden – fleeceable bean , Zea mays , white potato vine , Daucus carota sativa , onion , fresh herb and more .

So as our little dream continue on for that someday dinner – with thoughts of the barn dress and longsighted tables with centerpieces made from our home - grown Indian corn , gourds and pumpkins , it became apparent that this is rightfully what we are most thankful for – the opportunity to have a hand in what we grow and eat – and of even more importance , to apportion it with family and supporter .   I am indisputable that over the next 7 years – we will have many highschool and lows in the continued construction of the farm – but we also know that nothing can ever stop the major power of dreams .

Mary and I both wish everyone a glad and tremendous Thanksgiving season !   Oh , and if you are reading this and are part of our extensive family – consider this an invitation for 2020 :) .
