Birdbaths by the lake

We ’re in Holland , Michigan , today shoot the breeze Terri Holden ’s beautiful garden .

It ’s a later summer daylight on the path through Terri ’s garden that leads to Lake Macatawa . Terri says she enjoyswater featuresin the garden and how the light reflects off the water in this birdbath .

Nipponese hakone grass ( Hakonechloamacra‘All Gold ’ , Zones 5–9 ) wraps around a miniaturehostain a pot and a very sweet little garden gnome .

This little piddle feature article is surrounded byHeuchera‘Timeless Night ’ ( zone 4–9 ) , a hellebore ( Helleborushybrid , Zones 4–9 ) , and blue - eyed grass with one lingering flower ( Sisyrinchiumangustifolium‘Lucerne ’ , Zones 5–9 ) .

The hosta aggregation started with just five varieties but has grow to 25 unlike kinds ofhostas .

This view out to Lake Macatawa seem over a hydrangea ( Hydrangeamacrophylla , Zones 5–9 ) . The blooms have fleet on the hydrangea but are no less beautiful as they move into their fall and wintertime colors .

A tall base of hopeful pinkgarden phlox(Phloxpaniculata , Zones 4–8 ) , their flower reflect in the still water of a birdbath , make a beautiful garden bit .
