SixOnSaturday
I ’ve had the hebdomad off , much of it spent pottering about in the garden . I pick a unspoiled week weather wise , it was dry and quite sunny until Thursday Nox . I have had one very loose icing which chafe , rather than troubled , the more tender stuff . I could hold back no longer though , I have begun the process of cutting poppycock back , primarily to facilitate the planting of 250 daffodils , intimately all of which have gone in the borders . I am feeling virtuous in the bulb section , all 1200 are in . Time for Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a problem done , a blossom , a harvest , a cataclysm , a success , a plan , anything at all . Join in !
Here are my Six for this week …

1 – Tulips , embed . 42 pots of tulip joy . I ’ve used old compost with a bit of raw mixed in , plus some bonemeal for upright measure . As the medulla stop most of the energy necessitate , I ’m hoping this will be enough . I ’ve planted 12 or 13 per pot , in two layers , nice and abstruse . There are umpteen form in this pot , without a smidgeon of colour conscientious objector - ordination . It will look like a terrible fortuity in the mellifluous shop , but it will be joyful . The pots are just flower store bucket , buy for pennies from Morrisons a couple of years ago . I have n’t embed any tulip in the ground this yr , I ’m waiting to see if last twelvemonth ’s burial experiment yield returning flower dividends . I am not promising . This pile will be beautify my terrace steps and the field around the front doorway .
2 – Rose ‘ compassion ’ , balled . I retrieve this is a rose flower that failed to give , having got gummed up by the rainwater . Or perhaps it ’s an peculiar wrought hip . The former , I am almost certain .
3 – Allium ‘ Summer Drummer ’ . I ’ve not get this variety before . Last year I potted up all my unexampled allium electric light in pots , with the melodic theme that I could plant them out into gaps as they became obvious in the other spring . It process pretty well , so I ’m doing again . I went overboard on bulb generally , and I have a total of 200 alliums pot up like this , I think just 25 of these summertime drummer . Allegedly they get to 5′ grandiloquent so should be back - of - the - border fare . They were big electric light so I ’ve put them in 9 cm skunk , all are now poking through most smartly . Perhaps these wo n’t look till spring …

4 – Salvia ‘ red-hot lips ’ . For a industrial plant that I do n’t much like , it is getting a lot of aviation prison term here . To be more specific , I do n’t much like the prime . I do , however , like that they are still here , and that sleepy honey - bees can load up up on whatever ambrosia is left , and I also very much like the aroma of the leaves which smell strongly of blackcurrant when brushed past , or gratuitously rubbed . I ’m itching to thin out it back , it ’s a disgraceful invader .
5 – Lonicera 30 . This was among many £ 1.75 climbing iron I bought from Morrisons a match of year ago . This one is on the sunny fencing , keeping the pink wine and clematis company . It is flowering now . Odd .
6 – genus Prunus incisa ‘ kojo no mai ’ . I ’ve got two of these , one large than the other , both bought at better than half price at different times . The other one sink all of its leaves a week or two back , bad enough , but during the calendar week too , so I miss the chance to take a picture . This one is much more co - operative .

Have a serious weekend in the garden , and/or watching the rugby . Come on England ! Do n’t blank out to insure back in subsequently as more links are posted during the day .
I ’ll be back next calendar week with another # SixOnSaturday
