SixOnSaturday
Things are underway . A quick tour of the garden tells me that growth is happening . After a brief slumber , recuperating plants are send out unexampled stems , fresh verdure for us to look up to . It might all get ping back a bit if we get some proper cold-blooded weather , but for now it is all good to see . Much as it can be a chip blue , I love this time of year , each calendar week there is something new going on , something else breaking through the mulch in the pursuance to photosynthesize . clock time for Six on Saturday . Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a peak , growth , a success , a unsuccessful person , a project , a tool , anything at all . Join in !
Here are my Six for this week .

1 – Crocus , come forth . Very exciting . I bought 100 loud bulbs , just your basic crocus , back in the autumn . I ’ve not grown crocus before , this is part of my on-going campaign to stretch out the menstruum of interest in my garden . They are still modest , the giant boulders in the picture are 10 mm gravel .
2 – Clematis ‘ Rebekah ’ , come out . I have n’t yet pruned the clematis , I ’ll do that in a few weeks . This plant is probably the most established I have at present , Becky here is raring to go , putting out quite substantial buds .
3 – Lobeila tupa , emerging . ‘ Tis the season for emerge , apparently , lots of that going on . This is quite an architectural works once it produce back . I grew from ejaculate in 2017 , last class was quite right , I am expecting freehanded and better matter this class .

4 – Hellebore . After a couple of days of not quite getting around to it , I finally buy a few hellebores . I buy three from my local garden centre , half terms , frankly they are a bit draggled . I also buy three from Toni Morrison , at full price still bum than the others , and in much good condition . They are evidently clean as you may see , I would like to get some other colours . That said , the livid flowers are quite outstanding and extremely seeable from the theater . I have planted three at the foundation of each of the two newish trees . Hopefully they will spread themselves about a chip .
5 – Sempervivums . In a move almost guarantee to ensure that they are no longer coolheaded , I have joined the trendy hippy on the succulent bandwagon . I was unable to balk the temptation when confronted with a few trays of mostly - OK semps at B&Q the other day . I ’ve planted them in a loam establish compost with plenty of gritrock for drain , top dressed with crushed rock . I am expecting them to fill out the box passably quickly . I may well look out for some more , might have caught the bug .
6 – Alliums , emerging . I bought 3 dozen allium bulbs a while back , three varieties . Not quite sure where I wanted to put them , instead of planting out into the borders I pot them up in 7 cm pots . Later in the spring I can pop them in the borders when things have uprise on a number and I can see where alliums would be gainfully employ . They are nearly all through , an supporting mansion of spring to come .

Have a super horticulture weekend , do n’t forget to check in subsequently on as more links get added during the daylight .
