“ The health of soil , plant , animal and humankind is one and indivisible . ”-Sir Albert Howard

We have been on a farsighted , kinsperson pursuance towards real food .

The more I have see about modern farming , the less I bid to use up the wish-wash commercial-grade farm are produce . From degraded soils toripening wheat by spraying with RoundUp , I am unhinged and tired of being poisoned . add together to that the chlorine and fluoride in our water , the toxins in our boozing containers , the pollutant in the river … what a sight !

Since you almost ca n’t corrupt good food anymore ( raw milk proscription , anyone ? ) we are contend back in our own little way by trying to produce the best food possible on the ground usable to us .

A key to this has been our little dairy farm kine . One is in Milk River now , and the other is very pregnant and will be in Milk River within week .

We currently get 1.5 gallons of milk per 24-hour interval from Brandy , our current milch cow . Rachel milk her dayspring and evening , every day .

“ Bless the Lord , O my psyche : and all that is within me , consecrate his holy name . consecrate the Lord , O my someone , and block not all his welfare : Who forgiveth all thine injustice ; who healeth all thy diseases;Who redeemeth thy biography from death ; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things ; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s . ”-Psalm 103:1 - 5

It ’s been a longsighted road to this point . We started with farm some of our own vegetables long ago , then moved on to fruits and herb and etymon , then to chickens and goats , and now cows . We also learned about the danger of sugar , of seed oils , of poor mineral message in grime and more .

kine are one of the good choices we have made , and we are blessed to have a grass we can borrow to house them in . They turn eatage into rattling solid food .

I walk through the meat plane section of a local grocery store yesterday afternoon and look at the prices of nitty-gritty , then remarked to Rachel , “ You know … I opine we could almost just get by with dairy , eggs and Gallus gallus at this point . ”

A little Milk River , a few eggs , the episodic chicken for the pot and some cheese and butter go a farseeing agency , especially when paired with homegrown potatoes , park , bean and more .

I also make out that I ’m not eating unpronounceable chemicals and pesticide residue , or foods that are bushed from march .

What a boon ! presently , the second cow will be in Milk River and we ’ll get about three gallons per day . I ’m look forward to expanding our experiment with dairy farm .

Even if you do n’t have space for cow , I encourage you to supercede mill - bring about dust with your own homegrown food as much as potential . There is a lot of joyousness in eating what you ’ve earned through hard work .

Cheetos may be alluring , but good food is truly comforting and makes you feel smashing .
