Today ’s photos are from Marian Lane in Fairfield , Idaho . She says,“This is my garden , inspired a TON by readingFine Gardeningmagazine and it ’s all fillip material . Before , this was a matted alfalfa field of force . Other than the backhoe to position and bring in the really hard bowlder , all the rocks , trees , plants were my childbed and search finds .
“ In reliable horticulture fashion , not a single rock was to be had on this clay - big land . I had to hunt down down every rock you see . My husband built all the buildings and create the ponds . We have two connected 32′ pool off the back of the home and a small 6′ pool on the walk to the front door . It ’s a work in forward motion as I chance upon thing that work and need reworked .
“ It ’s a challenge here in Fairfield . It ’s high slew desert / prairie with Zone 4 winters with 50 mph winds at times . Our acquire time of year is very short , with frosts into June , and often start at the last of August . It then warms up for a beautiful nightfall and if I give tending and cover my containers , I can have smasher into previous September . Winter can be lovely , and I let in a few pic taken former daybreak , or as with the pines , in the middle of the night with only the christmas visible radiation as illumination .

“ We are hem in by field but the foothills are only two mi to the south and the Sawtooth stack range just six mi to the north . I love the little paradise we have created for our family . ”
So pretty , Marian . I ca n’t believe you moved all those rocks ! ! inviolable back ? !
