A fresh snowfall brings plenty of beauty and icy interest to a garden in the PNW
Happy Monday GPODers !
And well-chosen March ! say cheerio to February means we ’re one step closer to saltation and all of the colour , excitement , and work that the new time of year brings . But as we lead toward a very busy time of yr , get ’s not bury to relish the last chip of heartsease and quiet that the wintertime retardation brings . To aid us appreciate the last weeks of winter beauty , Lila Johnson in Mill Creek , Washington share some photos from a snow tempest that lately hit her garden . Lila has shared her infinite many times before ( Lila ’s Colorful Containers , The Rest of Lila ’s Wonderful Washington Garden , andLila ’s Autumn Gardenare some recent features ) so if you ’re inquire what her garden attend like without a blockheaded cover of C , be sure to go chink out those premature submission .
Hi , we had snow for about a day and a half , and as excited as a child on Christmas morning , I was out the doorway into about 3″ of Baron Snow of Leicester to take the air around my garden to snap some picture . So pretty! My folk knows I go bonkers when it pull the wool over someone’s eyes , although I will not tug in it . blow creates a pristine , adorable scene .

Enjoy the photos !
I dead adore being able to see our contributor ’s garden during the different season . We ’ve visualize this scene in Lila ’s garden before , the arbor and pathway usually lined with plants of various physique and colors , but it could almost be a entirely dissimilar space when covered in a few inch of snow . While not as colourful , the bright white C clinging to every Earth’s surface really nominate you sense like you ’re entering a key wonderland .
And Lila did an unbelievable line of work capturing all of that wintertime admiration , up close and from afar . Though it is the close - ups that I often find most absorbing and captivating in wintertime garden . Wintery scene can be witching , but it ’s the interesting ice-skating rink geological formation that always find artfully created .

Even a humble stem can depend like something interesting and otherworldly with an icy adornment .
Another scene we ’ve seen before , transformed by wintertime ’s terrific ashen speech pattern . If you ’d wish to see these endearing spots in Lila ’s garden with some more colouration , hold outLila ’s Autumn Garden in Washington : Part 2 . Before winter coil in , these vignettes are absolutely ablaze with brilliant pin coloration .
morphological branch and evergreen plant foliage is essential for interest group in any wintertime garden , but being able to include some wintertime bloomers is taking the slow season to the next level . Getting to look up to a fresh snow AND a pop of floral color from these pink camellias is truly the good of both worlds .

Another persuasion I often get in wintertime is , “ How did nature even oversee this ? ? ” And that was precisely my first intellection when I saw this image from Lila . A fern frond manage to freeze in place well enough to become a collect all of this snow along its archway . What an awesome feat of nature to capture !
Lastly , what is more classically beautiful than a caboodle of heavy evergreen coated in that fluffy clean coke ?
Thank you so much for share this magical C day with us , Lila ! I ’ve been patiently watching our last snow heaps melt away ( and on the Q.T. keep my fingers crossed that this is the last we ’ll see of it for the twelvemonth ) , but your upheaval and beautiful photos reminded me to not take this prison term of twelvemonth for yield . If we do end up getting one last storm in March , I ’ll be outside snapping pic like you did .
