In a Vase on Monday. Cyclamen hederifolium.
I found a little settlement of this little beauty , Cyclamen hederifoliumhidden by under some overgrown shrubs , so it seemed a good idea to lend a few into the house to savor .
you may see why they are called ‘ hederifolium’which means English ivy - leave . There is a rattling magnetic declination of patterns on the leaves . Some bloom without any leave-taking at all and the leaves add up afterward . This clump has been flowering for ages .
They fare in dark pinko , pallid pink or even white .

The following combining was accidental , but I think they look good with the leaves ofBrunnera macrophylla‘Jack Frost ’ .
They seed around prolifically and as they age the corms become tremendous . I have several huge ones that I have had for years and I always institute them with me when I move . There is also a pretty silver - leave form . I was lucky enough to be given some seeds of this one .

Some of them look as if they have crossed with the unripened one . There are other autumn flower cyclamen , I keep mine in the nursery because I do n’t know how fearless they are . I am toldCyclamen purpurascensis sturdy , but I am not going to take a chance it . This beauty starts flowering in the summertime and is still going on . The flowers are beautifully perfumed . I love the grim green , marbled foliage .

The other one is the dainty littleCyclamen ciliciumwhich comes from Turkey .

The red flower petal in the pot have dropped offPelargonium‘Ardens ’ which is one of my favourite genus Pelargonium . unluckily it is very laborious to diffuse . I am enjoying having these little Cyclamen purpurascens in a vase . They are so middling and lightly scented too which you might not point out unless you foot them .
I do have these charming fiddling cyclamen scattered in clumps all lash out the garden and I have wondered whether to cut into them all up and have one huge colony . But I would miss coming across them here and there on my ramble round off the garden . They brook ironic shade so they are endearing under tree . I give mine some bonemeal and a expert soaking in August . I used to give them a top dressing of peat , but now we have to learn to manage without it .

Cathy atRambling in the Gardenhosts the meme ‘ In a Vase on Monday ’ . It is great play , do connect in . Quite a few blogger have been exhort by this meme to create cutting gardens . Their former October vas are a joy to be see .

Is that a succulent I see providing a background for your pretty Pelargonium ? I ’d say you already have a nice bandstand of cyclamen under those bush . They are n’t nearly as happy in my garden . Thus far , I ’ve only seen one plant reappear and it is , so far , flowerless . I surmise our periodic heatwaves have the other works opting for the guard of remaining underground . They have n’t appeared en masse in the garden centers here yet either .
Cyclamen are favorites of mine . Like yours , mine are disperse around my garden and it ’s always a fun surprise to find a clump in bloom or foliation . The blooms look witching in a vase .
