On 14 April 2025 , Dutch Flower Group ( DFG ) shape closer ties with Nini ( Kenya ) and Herburg ( Ethiopia ) nurseries by buy share in Nini Herburg Roses , the company which embrace both of these businesses . Philippe Veys ( Nini Herburg Roses board member ) , Jan van Dam ( CEO DFG ) and Marco van der Burg ( Nini Herburg Roses board member )

Together , these two baby’s room employ 2,500 mass growing various miscellanea of roses on over 100 hectare of land , to develop more than 200 million stems every year .

Many of DFG ’s retail party have been love close relationship with both nursery for over 10 years . Since 2017 , the Ethiopia site has been exclusively used for rise roses for sealed DFG customers . There is also intense cooperation at the Kenya website , which is also focussed on growing assortments for large retail customer .

This is a strategical step towards strengthening the two companies ’ positions in the supply chain . Jan van Dam , DFG ’s chief executive officer said : “ For us , this is a consistent development in our long - running human relationship , which enables us to improve our position when it come to upright desegregation of certain product groups within the supply concatenation , and give our customers the very best offer . ” He also pointed out that DFG already collaborates with better half in a variety of ways in other flowers and plant product groups , citing examples such as contract cultivation , setting up innovative projection and forming more strategic partnership . “ Our ‘ Team Up With cultivator ’ scheme is all about mould more and more intensively with our raiser . ”

Becoming shareholders in Nini Herburg Roses is a step towards forge a more integrated partnership focussed on retail supply .
