I have start building a little garden shed amidst what will be my intellectual nourishment forest .
After months of very dry conditions , the rainfall has been falling in torrents , which has made what should be a one - daytime project into a multiple daytime “ hold off – mayhap the rainfall is about to stop and we can slew a few more 2 x 4 ’s ! ” undertaking .
This shed is only a 4′ x 5′ , as I had a piece of scrap plywood in that size . Redneck !
It will work well for storing long - deal creature , such as my hoes and broadfork , plus I ’ll work up a set of shelves into the back of it for various amendments , small tools , etc . I ’m hop I leveled out the boulders I used for support on the bottom well enough that they delay put . If not , I may have to jack it up in the future . Probably should have cast some concrete but I was spoil to construct . We start out business leader last calendar week and I could n’t wait any longer . move in haste and repent in leisure time , right ? Yet he who hesitates is lose !
I have scrap galvanized roofing from a neighbor ’s shed we are break apart so the next footstep is to figure out how to work up a roof , then garment the side with imperativeness - treat T-111 siding . I have never done anything like this before , my carpentry skills having been restrain to progress melodic instruments and furniture , so the shed is a learning experience for me . Once it ’s done , I ’m lead to build a temporary bamboo structure with a tarpaulin roof to store my extra timber , then I will start building a composting earth-closet . That will require more time and planning , as I ’m go to cast a pocket-size slab and use blocks for the catchment sleeping room at the bottom .
We had more heavy rains last night but it ’s clearing up now . I do n’t think I ’ll get back to building today as I ’m go to take my mommy and family out to confabulate a beautiful orchard about an minute north of us , but I am very ready to be done with this shed so I can stop carrying tools back and forth to the land every time we visit .

Last night I did an “ involve me anything ” Goodstream and answered a long ton of question . We also discuss how peachy Pete Kanaris is compared to me .
It was uproarious fun .
